Labour and birth is a transformative experience and one of the most important days of your life! We should prepare for it just as we would any other significant day. Research suggests that those who take antenatal courses tend to have a more positive birth experience than those who don’t. While attending an antenatal education course doesn't guarantee a smooth or "perfect" birth, parents who attend antenatal classes are often better prepared to manage pain, understand their birth choices, communicate with healthcare providers, and adapt to unexpected situations, all of which contribute to a more positive experience.
Knowledge is power and there is only so much information your Lead Maternity Carer has time to share with you during your antenatal appointments. Our comprehensive course gives you the tools to supplement their advice and help you make the best decisions for your pregnancy, birthing and postpartum journey.
Antenatal classes also cover postpartum care, breastfeeding, and baby care basics. This prepares parents not just for birth, but for the early days of parenting. Feeling confident in your ability to care for your newborn can reduce postpartum anxiety and improve overall well-being during the transition to parenthood.
